I am pleased with the task I have been given. I do not regularly watch films of the thriller genre so am excited to learn more about this.
The research part of coursework, prior to the planning and the construction of the product, will allow me to gain valuable knowledge that will hopefully allow me to create a professional, conventional and exciting thriller opening sequence. The first part of my research will include looking into sub-genres, the historical development of the genre and the conventions which will familiarise me with the thriller genre. Following this I will then go on to look at some real products on the market which will help me understand what aspects of the thriller genre my target audience will want, which will therefore increase the appropriateness of my product.
I think the part I am most looking forward to is the construction of the product - the filming and the editing. This is because I can be creative and explore different ideas through editing my footage.
Finally, the evaluation will also be an exciting part of the coursework as I can analyze
my own work to see where I could've improved, therefore gaining even more knowledge even at the latter stages of my coursework.
