The Game is a thriller movie that was released in 1997. It is a mystery thriller about a live-action game that consumes a characters' life. I don't like this title sequence as much as Rubicon and Seven as the footage doesn't strongly connote "thriller" where as the last two I have analysed did.
1. The titles used in this opening sequence is probably the most conventional to the thriller genre compared to the rest of the opening. The titles disappear into puzzle pieces which links back to the name of the film.
2. Again, this is conventional of a thriller movie due to the colours used. The white title against the black background makes it stand out.
3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. This is just a montage of images which have no narrative to them so therefore doesn't give any clues to the audience. The non diegetic soundtrack is quite subtle and 'twinkly' which is unconventional and the editing is also slow. This makes it quite boring and doesn't make me want to carry on watching.
9. The effect used here suggests a flashback, however it's hard to tell as it isn't contextualised due to the vagueness of the opening sequence.
