I am going to be analysing three opening sequence, considering all aspects of media language. This will give me a chance to see real thriller opening sequences which have been successful. It will help me with the construction of my product as it will illustrate to me some of the main thriller conventions, whilst giving me ideas for my own opening sequence. I am going to be looking at Collateral, Limitless and Swordfish. I haven't watched any of these films before, therefore cannot be bias when analysing them.
COLLATERAL was released in 2004 and is a crime thriller. The opening sequence is below, however I am going to analyse the opening for a further minute than what is shown.
LIMITLESS was released in 2011 and is described as a psychological thriller, a crime thriller and/or a mystery thriller.
SWORDFISH was released in 2001 and is an action crime thriller. The opening sequence is below, but again I am going to analyse this for a further minute than what is shown.
